Bi-bim-bap
Korean mixed rice bowl topped with vegetables, beef and a fried egg, served with gochujang.
Cook rice. Season and sauté the beef strips with soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic. Prepare each vegetable separately — blanch or sauté with a pinch of salt and sesame oil.
💡 Preparing each topping separately gives bibimbap its beautiful, distinct flavours and colours
Fry an egg sunny-side up with a runny yolk. Arrange the rice in a bowl, place each topping in sections around it, and put the egg in the centre.
💡 The visual presentation is part of bibimbap — take care arranging the toppings in distinct sections
Add a generous dollop of gochujang or sauce bibimbap in the centre, drizzle sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds. Mix everything together at the table before eating.
💡 Mix vigorously — the joy of bibimbap is in the mixing
